It is common for photographers to try to get balance and harmony in their images; the rule of thirds, simplicity, lines, etc. This is necessary to bring the viewer's eye to the subject without wandering around the image searching for an area to concentrate on.
BUT ... This gallery is about abstracts and those rules are not necessarily part of the equation. There is no correct side up or side down and even reversing the image gives one a fresh perspective. I invite you to look at these images with an open mind and enjoy!
"Sausalito Tarnish"
This is part of a brass tarnished door jam in an abandoned store front in Sausalito, California. I intensified the saturation and the hue in the colors of the original image to achieve the painting-like result.
